‘Made by me in Castel, Guernsey’

DICHROIC GLASS AND SILVER

DAVID PIPON is a Channel Islands jewellery maker working in Guernsey producing pieces made from dichroic glass and silver.

Inspired by the sea, countryside, local granite, ancient standing stones and dolmens.

This relatively new type of glass came as a spin off from satellite technology, when it was found to be a beautiful craft material. It is a glass that reflects on two plains.

It is created by bombarding glass with metal oxides in a vacuum chamber. The glass is then assembled and fused at high temperatures in a kiln.

Many of the pieces are mounted on sterling silver as pendants, some with matching earrings.

David has sold in the U.K. and Europe and was a regular exhibitor in Jersey’s Artisan Showcase craft exhibition.

His style is very precise and he sells in art galleries as each piece is, given the difficult nature of the media, a unique and personal art work.

Recently he has made pieces in sterling silver brass and copper incorporating his glasswork. Individual sales and trade enquiries are welcome.
